Schedule F software
Your Schedule F, built as the year goes.
Every expense gets tagged to its Schedule F line the moment you enter it. In February you print a summary instead of reconstructing twelve months out of a shoebox and a bank statement.

Frequently asked questions
What is IRS Schedule F?
Schedule F (Profit or Loss From Farming) is the form sole-proprietor farmers file with their Form 1040 to report farm income and deductible farm expenses. Most family farms file it on a cash basis using an SSN rather than an EIN.
Do I need software to file a Schedule F?
No, but the hard part is not the form — it is having a categorized year behind it. Software helps by tagging each transaction to its Schedule F line as you enter it, so the totals are already assembled at filing time.
Does Farm-Ledger file my taxes for me?
No. Farm-Ledger produces a Schedule F summary with line-by-line totals, plus a depreciation schedule and full transaction ledger, and exports them to CSV or PDF for you or your tax preparer. It is a recordkeeping and reporting tool, not a filing service or tax advice.
How do I handle utilities that are part household, part farm?
Enter the full bill and set a farm-use percentage on it. Only the farm share flows into the Schedule F utilities total, and the original amount stays on the record for your files.
What about depreciation and equipment I sold?
Capital assets carry a purchase price, in-service date, useful life, and salvage value, and produce a straight-line schedule. Disposals record the date, method (sold or traded in), and proceeds, and calculate book value and gain or loss for Form 4797.
Are other farm tax forms covered?
Farm-Ledger also produces summaries for Form 4562 (depreciation), Form 4835 (farm rental income), and Form 943 (agricultural payroll) on paid tiers.
Can I start mid-year?
Yes. Enter your year-to-date totals or import prior transactions from CSV, then record going forward. Most operators catch up a partial year in an evening or two.
